About Me

Welcome to Brew The Bean. We love coffee and so should you. The aim of this site is to provide a better understanding of all things coffee. From beans to different brewing methods, we will touch on it all.

My Story

I did not drink coffee until after I left high school! Coffee what just another drink and did not appeal to me. I believed caffeine was bad for you which is probably what kept me away from it.

That being said, I started my coffee drinking career with instant coffee. It was always in the cupboard and super easy to make! I think until recent years, 98% off all consumed coffee was instant coffee. Many people still drink instant coffee because of it’s convenience, but there is most definitely a trend in recent years to consume coffee made directly from coffee beans.

I can say that I am a convert from instant coffee to fresh bean coffee. When visiting a new place, I often find myself saying no to coffee when it is offered as I do not know if I will be getting instant coffee. I may sound like a ‘snob’ and at time I feel like one. But to be honest, I just enjoy good coffee!

There are so many facets with coffee. So many different factors contribute to making a good cup of coffee. From the type of bean used, to the consistency of the grind, to the brewing method. And  then 2 different makes of machines that both make cappuccinos can make cappuccinos that taste very different from each other.

To many people, coffee can be just coffee. But there is so much more to it. I have learnt what I like in a cup of coffee, and now a cup of coffee is way more than just something I make in the morning because of habit. I want it, I like it and the knowledge and effort I have gained about coffee has bean(no pun intended) worth it.

Is to educate people about coffee, and hopefully help others find what they love about coffee so that they can really enjoy their daily coffee!

If you ever need a hand or have any questions, feel free to leave them below and I will be more than happy to help you out.If I don’t have the answer, I am happy to research it for you. I have many contact in the coffee industry, so most of the time my answer won’t be something I found on the internet.
